LaFaba to Triacastela, Spain (10/5)

Date: Sunday, October 5, 2014

It is hard to believe, but this time next Sunday we will arrive in Santiago and our walk will be over. We will get our Compostella declaring us real pilgrims. Wow!

Today was a hard hike. We started our hike with a climb of over 1200 meters and it was 47 degrees. Our coldest day yet , but... Today was our most beautiful hike. We started out at sunrise and it was so beautiful. The landscape was so beautiful, it slowed down our walk. Breath taking view. The pictures will tell the story.

We stopped for lunch in O'Cebreiro. This was a beautiful Celtic town at the top of the mountain. They served coffee and tea with snaps to warm you up.
A chapel in O'Cebreiro. Check out the monk.

There were quite a few hits in the village.

Perigrino art.

We met Jay and Carrie (couple on left) on our first day. Soundra we met later, but we have become constant bunk mates in our  albergues. Jay and Carrie are from Seattle and  Soundra is from Germany. Tonight we celebrated her 105th day of walking! We will all arrive in Santiago together. Yea!
